About

Hi, I’m Sarah. Zing is my middle name, it is the American spelling of my mother’s first name Dinh. I was born and raised on the beautiful island of Oahu, and moved to southern California with my family when I was 16 years old. I love cloudy skies and rainy days. However, sticking to my island roots, I never live more than a half hour away from the beach. I received my bachelors degree in photography from the Art Institute of California-Hollywood, and I currently live in Thousand Oaks, California. My approach to photographing weddings is to be an observer. I love to sit back and capture the small moments that might have gone unnoticed. There is just something so satisfying about capturing candid moments like parents hugging, friends laughing, the single¬†tear that may run down a grooms cheek when he sees his bride for the first time, or even grandma getting down on the dance floor! Whatever it is, I strive to tell the story of your day in the most candid way possible, documenting every last detail. I’m not a fan of stiff posing and forced smiles, my job is to capture your love and how you express that love with each other. I love couples who are playful, quirky, adventurous, and the kind of awkward that laughs at themselves and puts a smile on everyone’s face. I tell my brides that they shouldn’t worry about being 100% comfortable in front of the camera (because, let’s face it, pictures can be a nerve-racking thing sometimes!), just be comfortable with each other and I promise you they will show through in your pictures. One of my favorite things about weddings is being able to keep in touch with and become friends with my couples. I also get to meet and work with some incredibly talented vendors along the way. These are some of the sweetest, kindest souls I’ve ever met. I absolutely love what I do, and not a day goes by that I am not grateful to be given the chance to do what I love. Below is an image that was taken after a styled photo shoot that was featured on Wedding Chicks (that’s me in the middle!). Please feel free to send me an email if you have any questions or would like to connect. I can’t wait to hear from you!

Warmly,
Sarah
